Umbrellas in the Sky

This photo shows one of the biggest attractions in Saudi Arabia set outside of one of the most famous Mosques. The formal name of the Mosque being Musjid-e-Nabwi is known to be dedicated to an Islamic prophet. This picture is set outside of the alleged mosque where enlargened umbrellas vastly cover the sky. These umbrellas are spread wide and are designed to have functional fans attached to them. In the photo the umbrellas are upturned and reflect the beaming sun, effectively shading everyone. When the sun's rays hit the umbrella, the light is reflected back into the atmosphere, rather than reaching your skin. This makes you feel cooler and more comfortable. In addition, umbrellas can also protect you from heat by providing shade. The stunning white color of these umbrellas are not only made to be visually pleasing but also because it is the most functional. A whitish umbrella will reflect most of the light falling upon it and will be cooler than a darker-colored one. This design is perfect for the outside of such a vast area because any fully-functioning handheld umbrella can block more than three-quarters of ultraviolet (UV) light on a sunny day. Therefore imagine how much these upturned massive umbrellas can block.
